Arrested for defrauding SARS

A former South African Revenue Services (Sars) employee has been arrested for allegedly defrauding his employer of almost half a million rand.
The man was nabbed by members of the Hawks' Serious Commercial Crime Unit earlier this week.
It is alleged that between 2011 and 2014, the 42-year-old - who was employed at Sars' Bellville office - unlawfully submitted fraudulent tax returns to the revenue service on behalf of private individuals.
He would then apparently charge a fee on the amount reimbursed to taxpayers.
The man is expected to appear in court at the end of this month on fraud-related charges.
